A Mean Field Game of Optimal Stopping
We formulate a stochastic game of mean field type where the agents solve optimal stopping problems and interact through the proportion of players that have already stopped. Working with a continuum of agents, typical equilibria become functions of the common noise that all agents are exposed to, whereas idiosyncratic randomness can be eliminated by an Exact Law of Large Numbers. Under a structu...
متن کاملMinority Game: a mean-field-like approach
We calculate the standard deviation of (N1 − N0), the difference of the number of agents choosing between the two alternatives of the minority game. Our approach is based on two approximations: we use the whole set of possible strategies, rather than only those distributed between the agents involved in a game; moreover, we assume that a period-two dynamics discussed by previous authors is appr...
متن کاملA double obstacle problem arising in differential game theory
A Hamilton-Jacobi equation involving a double obstacle problem is investigated. The link between this equation and the notion of dual solutions—introduced in [1, 2, 3] in the framework of differential games with lack of information—is established. As an application we characterize the convex hull of a function in the simplex as the unique solution of some nonlinear obstacle problem.
متن کاملA mean-field game model for homogeneous flocking
Empirically derived continuum models of collective behavior among large populations of dynamic agents are a subject of intense study in several fields, including biology, engineering and finance. We formulate and study a mean-field game model whose behavior mimics an empirically derived non-local homogeneous flocking model for agents with gradient self-propulsion dynamics. The mean-field game f...
متن کاملMean field limit of a continuous time finite state game
Mean field games is a recent area of study introduced by Lions and Lasry in a series of seminal papers in 2006. Mean field games model situations of competition between large number of rational agents that play non-cooperative dynamic games under certain symmetry assumptions. A key step is to develop a mean field model, in a similar way to what is done in statistical physics in order to constru...
